William L. Donahue of Englewood, CO, passed
away June 23rd at the age of 80. Survived by wife Lee; brother Frank (New
York); father to William P. Donahue, Rita Ochs, Teri (Tim) Goddard, Gregory S.
(Lynn) Donahue, Mark (Elizabeth) Donahue and Lisa (Steve) Goodwin; Grandfather
to Christopher, Simone, Jesse, Grace, Wes, Joe, Chris, Sara, Courtney, Ryan,
Andrew, Matthew, Nathaniel, Jonathan, Kyle, Kevin and Will; Great-Grandfather
to Kailer, Traeton and Jayden. Born to William and Mary on November 24, 1924.
Graduate of Boston University. He served his country during WWII in the
Asian-Pacific Campaign. After serving 9 years in the FBI, began a career in
the paper distribution business. In 1972, he led the acquisition of Dixon
Paper Company in Denver and built it into the leading paper distribution
company in the west. After selling the company in 1990, he focused on his
philanthropy and established the Donahue Foundation, focusing on Catholic
education. During his leisure time William enjoyed spending time with his many
friends, playing golf and traveling to Hawaii and the Colorado mountains.
Funeral services are to be held at St. Louis Catholic Church, Englewood,
Wednesday June 29, 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the
